FRIDAY, Jan. 26:  Songwriter Antje Duvekot comes to Plymouth

The Listening Booth, located in the Tanger Outlets on Route 1 at Midway, will present the return of folk-rock musician Antje Duvekot at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 ($25).

Antje Duvekot, a dazzling songwriter who has won the John Lennon Songwriting Competition and received the coveted Kerrville Folk Festival's Best New Folk award for her work, performs at the Spire Center in Plymouth. Back in Black – an AC/DC tribute – at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke. The stunning vocal harmonies and sounds of The Milk Carton Kids at The Paradise Rock Club in Boston. Brockton drummer Yoron Israel and his High Standards quintet, with vocalist Lori Williams, at Scullers Jazz Club in Boston. The wit and folk music wisdom of Christine Lavin at Club Passim in Harvard Square. Hot Rod Circuit is an Alabama emo band, making its debut at The Sinclair in Cambridge. Chicago Total Access – a tribute to the band Chicago – at The District Center for the Arts in Taunton. A Boston comedy showcase at Brewery 44 in Carver. The Gasolina Reggaeton Party lights up Big Night Live in Boston. The Red Bridge Band is a rock sextet, at Nickanee's in Providence, Rhode Island. Valerie Barretto sings at The Mayflower Brewery in Plymouth. Tip of the hat to Pembroke's Matt York, whose tribute and history of Willie Nelson show has sold out at Foxboro's Marilyn Rodman Performing Arts Center.

SATURDAY, Jan. 27:  Booty Vortex coming to Pembroke

Booty Vortex has a couple of gigs coming up in the next two weekends at a pair of their favorite and most successful local venues. This Saturday night (Nov. 25) the band plays at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, and they are headlining the C-Note in Hull on Nov. 2.

Booty Vortex brings back the disco era at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke. The Knickerbocker All-Stars – a nine-piece group of the best R&B performers from the legendary Westerly, Rhode Island, venue – visit the Spire Center in Plymouth. Guitarist Johnny Trama and the B-3 Kings, with Ken Clark, enliven the night at the C Note in Hull. Miriam – the duo with Braintree's Carla Ryder and Amy Fairchild – harmonizes at The Lizard Lounge in Cambridge. Lady Anemoia – an Americana quintet – delights The Fallout Shelter in Norwood. Torres – an indie rocker from Florida – gets down at The Sinclair in Cambridge. Club D'Elf – the Boston collective that plays funk and Morroccan music – is joined by stellar guitarists Duke Levine and Kevin Barry at the Narrows Center in Fall River. Moondance – a tribute to Van Morrison – at City Winery in Boston. Guitarist Dave Stryker's quartet at Scullers Jazz Club in Boston. Electronic duo Snakehips gets Boston's Big Night Live dancing.  Hardcore rockers Hooligan Holiday shake up The Paradise Rock Club in Boston. Indie rockers Sourpunch and three more bands set Nickanee's in Providence, Rhode Island, to rockin'. KISS Forever is the tribute band at The District Center for the Arts in Taunton. The folk music show with Patty Larkin, Lucy Kaplansky and John Gorka, among others, has sold out Arlington's Regent Theater.

SUNDAY, Jan. 28:  Aldous Collins Band headed to Boston

Don't forget the 4-8 p.m. Sunday blues jam at Players in Rockland, hosted by the Michele Rockwell Band. Sunday night, the Aldous Collins Band performs at The Rockwood in Boston; while the C Note in Hull hosts another benefit for the Childrens Museum, a 7 p.m. comedy show topped by Beantown legend Tony V; and the female trio Meet Me at the Altar indie-rocks The Paradise Rock Club in Boston.
