Johnston's Jayden Testa sinks seven 3-pointers in the Panthers win over Cranston West

BOYS BASKETBALL

Division II

Johnston 71, Cranston West 55

The Panthers (11-3) are ramping up for the postseason in two weeks, and Jayden Testa was leading the way on Friday. He connected on seven 3-pointers as he compiled 33 points in the Division II clash with the Falcons. Teammates Mike Carlino added 12 points and Branden Testa had 10. For West (7-5), Jaymien Aponte had a team-best 14 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Division I

Juanita Sanchez 55, Cranston West 49

The Cavaliers (4-11) entered Friday night's matchup as underdogs, but they featured three players in double-digit scoring, led by Charlize Romero's game-high 24 points. Arianna Fernandes added 16, and Damaris Antigua Oviedo had 15. For the Falcons (10-5), Maia Riccio netted a team-high 16 points and Kyla Buco added 11 in the loss.

Westerly 52, Scituate 44

Seven Bulldogs scored points with Madison Pellegrino leading the way with 14 and Westerly (9-6) won the I-C battle. Sydney Pagnozzi was the high scorer for the Spartans, now 3-10, with 9 points.

Bay View 66, Classical 43

The play of Amelia Polichetti (28 points) and Ava Wasylow (18 points) lifted Bay View to an easy win over Classical. The win spoiled the strong outing by the Purple's Shanell Akpan Smith, who netted 26 points.

Division II

Mount St. Charles 55, Cumberland 42

The balanced scoring of Addie Stojanowski (14 points), Masha Solovian (10), Emma Roberts (9), Addie Johnson (8), Anna Dziun (8) lifted the Mount (12-3) to victory. Noleen Rebelo and Bridgitt Van Etten each had 10 points for the Clippers, now 7-7.

Chariho 52, Woonsocket 30

Jules White finished with 12 points and the Division II-A leading Chargers (13-2) cruised to victory. Keira Frias chipped in with 9 points and Maddie Fiozzano had 8 for Chariho, which led, 36-14, at halftime. Woonsocket got 11 points from Techar Tarponweh but remained winless at 0-11.

Smithfield 46, Prout 33

Amelia McCreight pumped in a career-best 26 points and that helped the Sentinels overcome an early 14-4 deficit en route to the victory. Smithfield, now 9-6, outscored the Crusaders, 23-10, in the second quarter for a 27-24 lead to take control. No other Sentinel had more than 6 points. Erin Young had 14 points for Prout, which slips to 5-10.

Division III

EWG 49, Lincoln School 37

The combined efforts of Ella Johnson (16 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals), Emma Mears (11 points, 10 steals, 8 rebounds) and Nini Olawuyi (6 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals) propelled the Scarlet Knights to their 12th win in 15 games. The Lynx, now 5-7, got 18 points from Sarah Berube and 10 from Reign Whiteing.

Division IV

Davies 49, Providence Country Day 17

Davies had nine players get on the scoresheet, including Aniya Gomes, who led the way with 19, as they rolled to victory over Providence Country Day. Maddie Belanger contributed 10 points. Ava Soch scored 12 of PCD's points.

Narragansett 47, Toll Gate 24

Delaney Bonneau had the hot hand as she scored 20 points with four from beyond the 3-point arc and teammate Brooke Caffrey found the range for 16 points as the Mariners ran away from Toll Gate. Adeline Areson led the Titans in scoring with 16.

Ponaganset 55, Rogers 23

Jaina Yekelchik had a team-high 9 points on three treys and Giuliana Bachini scored 8 as Ponaganset raced past Rogers for the win. For the Vikings, Tameka Robertson scored a game-high 12 points.

BOYS HOCKEY

Division I

Smithfield 3, Mount St. Charles 2 (OT)

Kirill Satsuk scored two goals, including the game-winner with just over two minutes left in overtime, as Smithfield slipped past Mount St. Charles. Tommy Haden had the third goal for the Sentinels who are now 6-2-0-2. Goal scorers for the Mounties were Greg Piette and Harrison Dumas.

BOYS SWIMMING

Division I

North Kingstown 65, East Greenwich 26

Jackson Meier, Zach Proulx and Zach Szabo each won two individual events and were part of two winning relay teams as they paced the Skippers to victory. Meier won the 200 freestyle and 50 free, Proulx was first in the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly and Szabo took the 100 free and 100 backstroke races. Each swam a leg on the 200 medley relay and 400 free relays. Alex Tanner was the Avengers' top swimmer, winning the 100 breaststroke while swimming a leg on the victorious 200 free relay.

GIRLS SWIMMING

Division I

North Kingstown 69, East Greenwich 24

Isabel Boubaid won two individual events — the 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke — and was part of the winning 200 medley relay and 400 free relay, leading the Skippers to victory. Clare Carroll won the 100 butterfly and was part of the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. Sofia Simas won the 100 free and helped the 200 free relay and 400 free relay teams finish first. Audrey Bonin won the 200 IM and was on the 200 free relay team. Grace Meier was first in the 500 free and helped the 200 free relay and 400 free relay teams win. Angela Pariseault won the 100 breaststroke and helped the 200 medley and 200 free relay teams finish first.
