Ari Lennox considered Rod Wave’s Nostalgia Tour to be “the worst tour of [her] f**king life.”

On Sunday (Jan. 7), the first lady of Dreamville broke her silence regarding the tour via Instagram Live.

In the nearly 90-minute chat, Lennox reflected, calling the nearly three-month experience the worst tour “in every f**king way imaginable.” She expressed, “It was so annoying because, like, you could be singing your a** off and they just don’t give a s**t. They’re not there for you. They’re there for music that will never be like my music. They’re there for voices that’ll never be like my voice. And so, it just got old after awhile. I’m giving you my soul, my vocals, and nothing was ever enough.”

She recalled “never [being] comfortable,” explaining, “Every night when I got onstage, I was fighting for my life. I just remember every show, I was racing to get offstage, racing to get through my set […] You’re getting angry at me affirming you? This is not my crowd and it will never be.”

Lennox noted that the water bottle incident was the “icing on the cake.”

She explained, “I just snapped. It was tough. Like, it was tough. And it was heavy on my soul — feeling that energy […] I wasn’t surprised that it happened.”

During the Los Angeles stop of the tour, someone in the audience threw a water bottle at the singer and she responded, “Bi**h, I’ll f**k you up! […] Don’t you ever disrespect a beautiful Black woman on the stage like that! I’ma f**king f**k you up.”

The “Get Close” singer says that she’s so traumatized from the tour, that she currently can’t listen to trap music. She also felt her time on the road was “very, very hard and lonely,” as she reflected on her wardrobe being stolen and fans yelling at her to get offstage.

Overall, Lennox admitted that “no, it does not make sense to open up for anybody.”

However, her saving grace was rapper Toosii. Lennox praised her fellow opener for being “an angel” during the tour. “He shared his food with me […] and he was just a sweet angel. He always gave me beautiful tips. When I tell you I have so much respect for that man. A real angel.”

She also gushed about his set. “He’s a rockstar. Watching him kill it, I was like ‘damn.’ He commanded that motherf**king room, but I think there’s a certain type of energy that comes when you know people are there to see you and they genuinely wanna see you.”
