Missoula Symphony to host Harry Potter-themed family concert

MISSOULA, Mont. — The Missoula Symphony is hosting a Harry Potter-themed family concert at Dennison Theatre at the University of Montana.

The orchestra will play melodies from "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."

The symphony will also perform “The Sorcerer's Apprentice,” by French composer Paul Dukas, which is featured in the Walt Disney film “Fantasia.”

Prepare to be spellbound as the Missoula Symphony invites all young wizards and witches-in-training to a magical family concert that promises to transform the world of music into an extraordinary and captivating experience. Adding to the allure of the afternoon, the symphony will also perform The Sorcerer's Apprentice, a symphonic poem by the renowned French composer Paul Dukas. Familiar to many from its appearance in the Walt Disney 1940 animated film Fantasia, this piece has since captivated audiences far beyond the classical concert hall.

Special guests Rosie Seitz Ayers and Ryan Eggensperger will join in this musical journey, adding their own wizardry to the performance.
