Give Back Through Music: Honoring Leslie West

Give Back Through Music Presents American Classics: Honoring Leslie West took place at the Canyon Club January 23rd just two days before the NAMM show. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the concert had been postponed and this was the first NAMM post-pandemic to take place during its usual time the last weekend of January. This all star concert hosted by Eddie Trunk was organized by bassist/ producer Fabrizio Grossi last over four hours included a lineup of guitar greats The Doors’ Robby Krieger, Steve Lukather (Toto), Phil X (Bon Jovi) and Richie Kotzen (Winey Dogs). Drummers included Earth Wind and Fire’s John Paris, Jane’s Addiction’s Stephen Perkins, and Matt Starr (Ace Frehley/Mr Big.) In addition to Grossi the bassists included Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy/ Dead Daisies) Stu Hamm (Joe Satriani/Steve Vai), and Julia Lage (Vixen). Bands Classless Act and Paradise Kitty performed as well. The singers included Brett Scallions (Fuel), Eagles of Death Metal’s Jesse Hughes, and actress Abby Genet. The final song of the night was none other than Mountain’s “Mississippi Queen.”
