The Players, Monster Jam and 100 other fun things to do in Jacksonville in March

Other than the eight Rock and Roll Hall of Famers coming to town, the Players Championship, Monster Jam, the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, Disney on Ice, Cirque du Soleil, a sidewalk art competition, a new immersive art show, a goofy baseball exhibition and the debut of a new Jacksonville basketball team, there's hardly anything going on around this part of the state in March.

It's not really a question of finding something fun to do; more like choosing which fun thing to do. Here are more than 100 options:

March 2, starting at the Jacksonville Sports Complex 

Thousands of runners will take part in the largest 15-kilometer race in the U.S., winding their way from the stadium/arena/ballpark area, through downtown and San Marco before finishing with the Hart Bridge, aka “the green monster.” There’s also a 5K charity run, Junior River Run and diaper dash race, plus a runner’s expo in the days leading up to the race. March 3 at the Golf Club of Amelia Island

Think of the Concours as more of an art show than a car show. More than 250 of the finest automobiles in the world will be on display, in 35 classes, on Sunday, the end of four days of auctions, parties, movies, ride & drive events and killer cars. Info: ameliaconcours.com

March 2-23 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena 

Law enforcement, firefighters and first responders will take to the ice in the annual Guns N’ Hoses hockey game on March 2, before the Icemen play the Orlando Solar Bears.
