Carlisle has a number of vibrant music scenes for people young and old to check out. 

After a wide range of gigs ranging from indie rock to heavy metal in 2023, the News and Star looks at some of the biggest already-confirmed music events to look forward to in 2024. 

Trevor Nelson's Soul Nation - The nations favourite RNB DJ, BBC Radio 1Xtra & Radio 2 giant, Trevor Nelson takes his ultimate old school party Soul Nation to Carlisle at the Old Fire Station on Saturday, February 3. 

Circa Waves - Known for their nervy, melodic indie rock, Britain’s Circa Waves first gained buzz in the 2010s and have acheived fame with their standout hit T-shirt Weather. They play at The Brickyard on January 25. 

Neville Staple, The Original Rude Boy - Neville Staple, the legendary multi-award-winning Front Man From The Specials, Fun Boy Three and Special Beat, also known as The Original Rude Boy, celebrates over 40 years of his super music career at Carlisle's Old Fire Station on Saturday, February 17.

Fat Dads - Fresh from their recent interview with the News and Star, Carlisle-based Indie band Fat Dads play at The Brickyard for the first time on March 23. 

Smoove and Turrell - Northern Funk band Smoove and Turrell are acclaimed for their outstanding live performances. They have consistently enjoyed extensive mainstream radio airplay and rave press reviews and will play at the Old Fire Station on Thursday, March 20 at 7.30pm.

Elephant Gym - Bass-driven, 3-piece maths rock band Elephant Band are coming from Taiwan to play at The Brickyard as part of their world tour. See them in Carlisle on May 29

The Rockmantic Weekender - The annual & original Rockmantic Weekender returns to The Brickyard in Carlisle where it was first established in 2013. Headlined by two of the hottest emerging rock bands in the UK; South of Salem & She Burns Red, this event on February 9 is already heading for a sell-out.
