SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. (KOMO) — A person is dead after their car crashed into a traffic light pole early Sunday morning in Washington state and split in half.
Fire units from Snohomish County Fire District #4 and Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue were dispatched to the crash scene.
Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle with heavy damage because of a crash into a traffic light pole. Further investigation led officials to discover the car was severed into two pieces by the crash. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene
Officials said the severity of the crash was the result of excessive speed.
There was a second vehicle involved in the crash, and that driver was treated at the scene and then released.
The crash is under investigation by the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.
