EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – After a rocky start to the 2024 season, El Paso Locomotive FC will hit the road to Las Vegas in search of its first win of the year on Saturday vs. Lights FC.

Los Locos opened the 2024 USL Championship with a pair of losses and a draw, plus a 3-0 loss to FC Juarez in a friendly match on Wednesday. All four of El Paso’s games so far this year have been at home.

Saturday won’t be easy for El Paso, with a trio of players – midfielder Jeremy Garay and forward Amando Moreno, as well as goalkeeper Jahmali Waite – called up for international duty. Additionally, defender Brandan Craig is on the shelf for a while with an ankle injury.

The three USL matches that El Paso have played are at least one more than every other team in the Western Conference. Las Vegas is also still in search of its first win after two losses in two matches.

If El Paso can get a win, they’ll have momentum going into a two-week break between matches. Kickoff in Las Vegas is slated for 6 p.m. MT on Saturday night.
