FARGO — Obviously, sitting on a two-game losing streak for a week didn't set well with the Fargo Force.

The Force scored five first-period goals and hammered Lincoln 9-1 on Thursday before 2,965 at Scheels Arena.

Fargo's Gavin Morrissey, Lee Parks and Reid Daavettila all scored two goals. Jake Fisher and Brandon Svoboda both had a goal and an assist and Michael Quinn scored the Force's other goal. Michael LaStarza and Harper Bentz both had two assists.

Force goalie Hampton Slukynsky stopped 32 of 33 shots.

The Force and Stars play against at 6:05 p.m. Friday, March 9, at Scheels Arena.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
