Houston Texans legend J.J. Watt gives Danielle Hunter the ultimate compliment
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Texans recently made a huge splash in free agency and may be one of the teams everyone is talking about heading into the season after the moves they have made. It started slow for general manager Nick Caserio, but he put together some very good moves that should have the Texans building off of what they did last season.

Their biggest signing, grabbing defensive end Danielle Hunter , caught a lot of people off guard, but it was needed since the Texans lost their defensive end Jonathan Greenard to the Minnesota Vikings. In a way, they traded players.

But what stands out about Hunter the most is that he is a Houston native. He is classy, too, and he showed it when he was introduced to everyone. When asked if he would keep his number 99 when he suited up for the Texans, his answer was as good as it got.

"Man, 99, that's JJ's [Watt] number," Hunter said at his introductory press conference. "He's done a lot with that number. I'm not even going to mess with it. To be able to do what he's done with that number for the community and the Texans, I'm just leaving that under him. I decided to possibly go with the number 55."

Of course, given how classy that answer was, J.J. Watt—one of the greatest defensive players of all time and easily the greatest Houston Texan of all time—wearing his number would be seen as a sign of disrespect to many, and Hunter probably doesn't want to try and live up to those expectations anyway. Watt had a classy response himself.

A guy I would have loved to play alongside. Nothing but respect.

We haven't seen Hunter play for the Texans yet, but from what we have seen of him throughout his career - and the 17 sacks last season—those two guys across from one another would be crazy.
