Elizabeth Smart

    Elizabeth Smart is an American child safety advocate, ABC News contributor, producer and author. She first gained national recognition in June 2002 when she was abducted from her Salt Lake City home at 14. Lifetime documented her kidnapping in I Am Elizabeth Smart (2017), which she produced. She also appeared in A&E's two-part special Elizabeth Smart: Autobiography (2017). In 2011, she founded the Elizabeth Smart Foundation to combat sexual violence. She also joined ABC News as a contributor on missing person cases. Smart has published two best sellers: My Story (2013) and Where There's Hope (2018).
