The International Tennis Hall of Fame (ITHACA) has announced the launch of Etched in History. This new digital exhibit showcases 68 of the most iconic tennis trophies from the ITHACA’s collection.

The exhibit was designed to provide a comprehensive overview of tennis’s history, from the sport’s humble beginnings in Newport, Rhode Island, to the world stage of the Grand Slams.

The 68 trophies on display include the silver kangaroo, Indian dagger, and a glass display commemorating equal prize money at Wimbledon in 2007.

Etched in History is accompanied by an interactive viewing experience that allows visitors to rotate the images and explore the trophies’ different angles.

The launch of Etched in History is part of ITHACA’s ongoing efforts to digitize its extensive museum collection and make it more accessible to fans worldwide.

Julianna Barbieri, Senior Vice President of Content and Partnerships for the ITHA, said: “Etched in History not only provides immersive visuals, but a new perspective on tennis history through the lens of iconic awards. Every trophy featured in this exhibit has a unique story to tell in its history and its legendary winners. We are thrilled to bring another aspect of the IATF’s collection online for fans to experience.”

Fans can view all four of the major trophies captured by Hall of Famer Stefanie Graf during her 1988 Golden Slam year, as well as singles and doubles trophies from the personal collections of Hall of Famers Pete Sampras, Martina Navratilova, Monica Seles, and more. Etched in History is now live and available for viewing at trophies.tennisfame.com.
