Trump's got nerve calling Biden 'crooked'

I almost have to laugh each time I hear, and I listen as infrequently as possible, to Donald Trump mentioning "Crooked Joe Biden." Wow. President Biden, who is not charged with any criminal or civil actions, certainly not blatant lies, being called crooked by someone facing dozens of criminal or civil charges, who has rulings against him for financial fraud, illegal payoffs and sexual misconduct. The comment is from one who is facing felony charges in several jurisdictions including stealing top secret US security information and trying to steal an election. Can't figure why Trump is not booed or at least ridiculed each time he tries to degrade others to boost his own ego. We are to support him for this? Calling Joe Biden crooked is as dishonest as everything else Trump does and says.

Former President Donald Trump, facing 88 felony charges, calling President Joe Biden 'crooked' seen by some as hard to take.

Banks wouldn't hire Trump. Should we?

I just realized that if Donald Trump applied for a job at almost any bank in the U.S., he would not pass the security test. How on Earth can he be the president? How can any American vote for a man who is already selling himself to the highest bidder, Russia? China? The man has no moral core. He owes a half billion dollars to the state of New York. He will sell anything to make his payment. America, wake up.

Pet of the Week, a newspaper plus

Kudos to you, Palm Beach Post, for your new pet column. There are so many abandoned cats who are trying to survive on their own because they don’t have the safe, loving homes they need and deserve.  We have failed this segment of our society.  Your new column will showcase one of those pets every week, and help it find a forever home and family to protect and care for it. Congratulations on being a voice for abandoned pets.

Florida pols dumbing down education

Florida's school kids aren't taught about Black history, nor do they learn about America's Civil War. The Diary of Anne Frank isn't in public school libraries. Yet, Florida's public schools soon will be teaching Karl Marx' and Fredrich Engles' complex theories about communism to elementary school kids.

Introduction or indoctrination? Who's to say?

You can't make this stuff up. What comes out of Tallahassee regarding public school education is mind blowing. It's not that difficult: Let educators educate, and let politicians continue to mumble their gibberish. A bit further up the education food chain, Florida's public universities have been put on notice by the NAACP. Apparently, they recently suggested to the NCAA that black athletes not attend Florida public universities. Eventually, all actions have consequences. I'm curious to see the political reaction to this news.

Green energy can save the Glades

Kudos to Palm Beach Post photographer Greg Lovett for capturing the smoke released over Belle Glade by the harmful practice of burning sugar cane fields, and another thumbs up for the editorial choice of placing the stunning picture and Antigone Barton’s article about “green harvesting” above the fold in the February 29 issue.

The Post’s award-winning investigative reporting on the negative health impact on Glade residents was not enough to end sugar cane burning, a practice that has also blanketed our vehicle in western Lake Worth with “black snow.” Advocate Steve Messam’s pitch to the city commissioners to widen the use of cutting versus burning may have cut through Big Sugar’s smoke to see the wisdom of adopting the environmentally sound and healthier alternative.  Mr. Messam has made an offer the Belle Glade commission cannot refuse: “Why not allow the Glades to be the Silicone Valley of green energy?”
