Bars and restaurants were shut down on one of their busiest nights of the year after one person was killed and three more injured in three different shootings in Jacksonville Beach's bar district during St. Patrick's Day celebrations, according to the Jacksonville Beach Police Department.

Police responded to what they called an active shooter threat among crowds of holiday revelers and spring breakers that occurred at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Local bars and restaurants were told to lock down and residents were urged to shelter in place just after 9 p.m., according to a Facebook post from the JBPD. The restrictions have since been lifted.

Officers were already on the scene due to reports earlier in the week that a large number of teens were going to be meeting up in the area.

"Anywhere from 250 to 400 juveniles in their late teens arrived at that location," JBPD Chief Gene Paul Smith said in a Monday morning press conference.

Here's what we know.
