Woman from Wellington battles on 'The Voice,' singing a Frankie Valli hit. How did she do?

A singer who grew up in Wellington not only progressed on The Voice Tuesday evening, March 19, but she gets to skip a round and go straight to the show's playoffs.

Nadège, 26, paired up with Maddi Jane, 24, of Chicago in a friendly head-to-head duet to perform the Frankie Valli hit, “Can't Take My Eyes Off You.”

Their coach, Chance the Rapper, declared Jane the winner in the performance, and she will progress to the next round.

As Nadège was bidding him farewell, John Legend and Dan + Shay both attempted to steal her for their teams. Afterward, Nadège managed to utter a few more words to Chance when he hit the button to award her his special “playoff pass.”

“You have something that’s so pure and earnest and real about you,” Chance told her.

Both women’s musical influences come from their faith. Jane grew up in Christian Youth Theater and Nadège had focused on singing and leading worship at the Bible College at Oceans Church in Orange County, California, where she moved in 2020 and now lives.

She has graduated and ready to move on to her musical career, according to her Voice bio.

Another singer from Palm Beach County, 16-year-old Serenity Arce, still awaits her "Battle Round" duet and will likely perform Monday, March 25 or Tuesday, March 26.

This season isn't Arce's first on The Voice. She appeared as a 14-year-old during season 21 in 2021. She didn't make it past the blind auditions but the coaches then had sage advice: Blake Shelton told her she needed only a year and to come back.

Her fellow Palm Beach County resident, Ariana Grande, suggested more musical theater.

She heeded both and had all four judges vying for her this year in a four-chair turn. Like Nadege, she chose Chance as her coach.
