As we learned from her roles in I Care a Lot (2020) and Saltburn (2023), Rosamund Pike can do drama.
This year, the actor has been on an incredible style streak while promoting the latter film, having walked several red carpets in striking designer gowns that channel her character in the chilling black-comedy thriller, Elspeth Catton.
In the film—written, directed and co-produced by Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman)—Pike plays a beautiful, rich, entitled matriarch with fabulous clothes. She stars opposite lead Barry Keoghan, who plays Oliver, and Jacob Elordi, who plays her son, Felix.
“I’d be a terrible bore to someone like Elspeth,” Pike told Deadline while discussing the role. She added that while she is nothing like her character—who is outrageously posh and unfazed by anything—playing Elspeth “was really refreshing, it was really fun to be able to live inside that skin.”

For the BAFTA afterparty, Pike pulled a look straight from the runway; she wore a completely transparent ensemble from Jean Paul Gaultier's Spring/Summer 2024 Couture collection. The look consisted of a shiny, see-through button-down shirt with a mandarin collar and green illustrations of the Eye of Providence enclosed in an abstract floral design on each bust and hands on each wrist. The matching skirt featured a structured silhouette that jutted out at the sides, a midi length, and floral illustrations along the hem. She paired the pieces with silver sandals that featured a toe strap.

Pike had a modern take on a Cinderella dress at the 2024 BAFTA Awards. She donned a cool blue gown that featured two large pieces of fabric that crossed over one another to create a plunging V-neck bodice, a flouncy A-line skirt, and tight pleats throughout. She wore the centerpiece over a nude corset and paired it all with chunky gold peep-toe platform heels, a diamond statement ring, and diamond drop earrings.

Pike gave a delicate, flouncy transparent pink dress lots of edge at the BAFTA Nominees' Party. The lovely centerpiece, which hails from Erdem's Spring/Summer 2024 ready-to-wear collection, features puffy short sleeves, a fitted bodice, and a flowy skirt with ruffle details along the hips and hem, all in a see-through powdery pink fabric with floral motifs throughout. She wore the gown over a nude bralette and matching high-waisted underwear, and paired it with dark accents, including black leather opera gloves, a matching wide belt, and pointed-toe, lace-up slingback heels. For a final touch, she added diamond drop earrings.

Pike put her own party spin on the rosette trend in an electric-blue halter gown covered in sequins at the 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards. The piece, by Rodarte, was cinched at the waist and accented with a large rosette in the same fabric. She paired the gown with pointy black heels and accessorized with dangly gold earrings with purple crystals by Fred Leighton.

Sure, Pike can do chaos, but we know well that the Pride & Prejudice star can also bring the romance.
To attend the 2024 BAFTA Tea Party at the Maybourne Beverly Hills, the actor wore a transparent, pale green dress adorned with fresh pink roses. The dreamy piece hailed from Simone Rocha’s Spring/Summer 2024 ready-to-wear collection and featured a scoop neckline, corset boning along the bodice, and a wide A-line skirt that flowed as she walked.
Pike layered the midi gown over a nude slipdress that featured lace detailing along the neckline, and finished the look with gold peep-toe sandals and classic pearl earrings.

Pike looked like the most elegant rosebush at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 14th Governors Awards. The actor walked the carpet in a plunging, strapless gown covered in red and pink faux roses, by Erdem. To complement the dress, she accessorized with red drop earrings by Fred Leighton.

Pike made quite an entrance at the 81st Golden Globe Awards, looking every bit like her shameless, stunning Saltburn character in a black lace vintage Dior gown and matching fascinator.
The dress featured a strapless, fitted bodice and an ample skirt completely made up of layered black lace florals. Meanwhile, the long sleeves and tall neckline were made up of a black mesh fabric with black lace flowers scattered throughout.
Pike’s headpiece—by Philip Treacy—was also made of a transparent, heart-shaped net covered in black flowers and topped, almost ironically, with a pretty little bow.
After Variety’s Marc Malkin pointed out on the carpet that her ensemble evoked her Saltburn character, Pike said, “Well, you know, you have to channel it, don’t you?” She added, “Either a sort of weird funeral vibe or maybe she wore black for her wedding.”

Pike looked like a dream princess in a pretty pink Molly Goddard gown at the Vanity Fair and Amazon MGM Studios award season celebration held at Los Angeles’s Bar Marmont.
The Spring/Summer 2024 Willow gown featured geometric stitching throughout and a wide tutu skirt. She styled it with strappy pink heels and a bold red lip.
