Former President Trump visits Ohio to campaign for GOP Senate candidate Bernie Moreno
Former President Donald Trump visited Ohio Saturday for a rally for Ohio Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno.
The rally comes days ahead of Tuesday's primary, where Moreno goes up against Matt Dolan and Frank LaRose for the Republican nomination for Ohio U.S. Senate.
Moreno spoke directly to Ohio voters, asking for their vote in what is a very tight Senate race.
Moreno said he will model his term after Donald Trump.
Trump endorsed Moreno over two rivals in the GOP primary.
"We gotta win it, Bernie," Trump said during the rally.
Trump also took aim at President Joe Biden and highlighted the crisis at the border.
Moreno echoed Trump's sentiments.
Two years ago, Trump appeared at a rally for J.D. Vance ahead of Ohio's primary.
Vance beat out Democratic candidate Rep. Tim Ryan to win in November 2022.
Vance and U.S. Representative Jim Jordan are among other Republicans backing Moreno.
"Let's win Ohio," Moreno said during the rally.
The latest poll from Florida Atlantic University shows Matt Dolan leading the race with 25 percent of the vote, Moreno follows closely at 24 percent and LaRose at 15 percent. The polls show 36 percent still undecided.
