Jeff Daniels stars as real estate mogul desperate for power in new Netflix miniseries A Man In Full alongside Diane Lane and Lucy Liu

Jeff Daniels is set to make his return to television in the upcoming drama series A Man In Full.

And on Wednesday Netflix dropped the first trailer for the limited project that stars the longtime leading man as Charlie Croker, a real estate agent who's gotten used to living the high life.

But as the teaser infers, the former college football star turned middle-aged Atlanta conglomerate has seen his life take a turn for the worse.

'When Atlanta real estate mogul Charlie Croker faces sudden bankruptcy, political and business interests collide as Charlie defends his empire from those attempting to capitalize on his fall from grace,' a synopsis of the storyline reads.

Created by David E. Kelley and directed by Regina King, A Man In Full is based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by the late Tom Wolfe, who's the author of such other acclaimed books that were adapted into feature films as The Right Stuff (1979) and The Bonfire Of The Vanities (1987).

The teaser begins with Croker (Daniels) staring out the windows of a high-rise office building while dressed in a suit and tie.

The shot then pulls back to reveal a woman in red leaning up against a table while the man who's said to haver an outsize ego continues to stare out in the distance.

'When you die will people notice?' Croker narrates, as the picture quickly switches to an inmate inside a prison and then to a man sitting at a living room table, which appears to be Daniels' character again.

A crowd can be heard chanting, 'Four more years,' as supporters of a political candidate stand out along a street, while the shot follows behind a man.

Croker is again seen staring out that office window again as he continues: 'I heard once a man reaches a point where he's older.'

He adds, 'That ain't the tragedy. The tragedy is he refuses to recognize it, ' all while the angle moves from behind the protagonist to his left side.

The teaser ends with Croker closing his eyes in anguish as a subtle but steady noise reaches a crescendo.

Along with Daniels, the cast also includes Diane Lane, William Jackson Harper, Aml Ameen, Tom Pelphrey, Sarah Jones, Jon Michael Hill, Chanté Adams, Lucy Liu, Bill Camp and Evan Roe.
