18-year-old motorcyclist killed in Sarasota crash, troopers continue investigation

An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a Sarasota crash Wednesday night.

The motorcyclist was traveling east on Clark Road on the eastbound inside lane, while an SUV was traveling in the opposite direction on the westbound left-turn lane. At 9:05 p.m., the SUV turned in front of the approaching motorcycle, causing the motorcyclist to collide with the right side of the car.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, and the SUV driver had no injuries.

FHP officials said that the crash remains under investigation to include the pre-crash speed of the motorcyclist.
