While we’re on the subject of Hollywood, their obsession with prequels and sequels will continue in unabated fashion. And of course, though many such projects can induce fatigue, there are certain exceptions. One such film was Kingsman: The Secret Service which featured Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, and Mark Strong in pivotal roles and was about a spy organization that recruited young members of the aristocracy. Released in 2014, it was a promising film that was about a spy organization whose members wore sharp, tailored suits. In approach and presentation, it was an entertaining if not groundbreaking film.

With its sequel, The Golden Circle, director Michael Vaughn is taking things up a notch. “Just doing a sequel, you’re kind of violating that promise of originality,” said Vaughn. “Sequelitis is a plague I have no interest in contracting.”

In other words, Vaughn is leaving no stone unturned to make sure the film stands out. And so, Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, Halle Berry, and Game of Thrones‘ Pedro Pascal will appear as “members of the Statesman, America’s Kingsman equivalent”. In addition, Julianne Moore also costars in the film “as a Martha Stewart-ish global entrepreneur named Poppy” and Elton John also pops up on the canvas, albeit in a cameo appearance.
