Rapper Meek Mill shared via an Instagram Story last week that he took his new GMC Hummer EV out for a drive and crashed it on its maiden voyage. An image posted to social media showed extensive damage to the front driver’s side of the vehicle.

The image from the now-expired Instagram Story showed a Hummer EV with a smashed-up front end. The driver-side front wheel and suspension appear to be collapsed inward, and the hood, bumper, and headlight all look severely damaged. Mill, whose full name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, claimed he had an issue with the brake pedal.

Mill captioned the photo of his crashed Hummer EV with: "God telling don't crash out for the bustas ... ima listen[.] S*** knocked me out lol ... gmc the whole brake pedal slipped off my first time driving smh."

Following the crash, Mill tweeted that "the car accident was minor."

The tri-motor Hummer EV makes 1,000 horsepower and can accelerate to 60 mph in just over 3 seconds. That is astonishing speed for a vehicle that has a curb weight of over 9,600 pounds. However, stopping the big EV is another story. A GMC Sierra 3500HD dually can stop quicker.

Mill is no stranger to performance vehicles. He is not shy about sharing his car collection which includes a Lamborghini Urus, a Bentley Flying Spur, and an Aston Martin Rapide among others. But none of those vehicles have the acceleration and weight combination that the Hummer EV has.

However, Mill and GMC seem to have a close relationship, so it is unlikely that the rapper would blame the vehicle for the crash. At the 2023 Miami Grand Prix, Mill and DJ Khaled performed at the “HUMMER House” event that featured the debut of the limited-edition 2024 GMC Hummer EV3X Omega Edition.

No matter what the cause was, it doesn't seem anyone was seriously injured in the crash, thankfully. Despite this incident, we'd bet Mill will be behind the wheel of another Hummer EV soon.
