BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man is accused of killing two men after their bodies were found in a burning building in Bath Beach last week, police said Monday.

Alex Alive, 33, was charged with two counts of murder in connection to the incident at 159 Bay 29th St. on March 17, according to the NYPD. The victims have not been identified.

One of the men was shot in the head and the other appeared to have died from smoke inhalation, authorities said. The victims were found on the second floor of the burning four-story building at around 6:45 p.m., police said.

The fire appears to have been set on purpose, officials said.

Alive had not been charged with arson, authorities said. Police said Alive has multiple prior arrests, including assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
