Mountain biker discovers human skull in Skamania County believed to be missing person

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Authorities have launched a death investigation after a mountain biker found a human skull near a Skamania County campground on March 13.

The cyclist called officials from an area near the Sunset Falls Campground around 9:45 p.m., according to authorities.

“Due to the time of the call received and lack of daylight, response to the area was delayed,” officials said. “[The next morning], law enforcement personnel responded to the area, locating the skull, along with additional human remains.”
