Minnesota's Sarah Moraw, West Ottawa graduate, claims Big Ten title on balance beam

Minnesota's Sarah Moraw landed a stellar balance beam routine at the Big Ten Championships to claim the conference title during the weekend at Michigan State.

Moraw won her first Big Ten title with a 9.925 on the beam.

The West Ottawa graduate helped Minnesota finish second overall as a team. On vault, she scored a 9.875.

"Honestly, I was awestruck," Moraw told Minnesota Athletics. "It's an amazing experience. I couldn't have done it without my teammates and coaches. We talk so much about 'being history' and the people that came before us paved the way. To do this in front of all my friends and family too was just amazing."

Moraw earned a spot on the All-Big Ten Championships team.

Two of her former Champion Gymnastics teamamtes, Stephanie Lebster and Genna Lebster, compete for Michigan State, though were not in the rotation for this meet.

The Spartans won the Big Ten title for the first time.
