SATURDAY PREP ROUNDUP: Runs were aplenty for the St. Anthony baseball team in its dominating win over Breese (Central)

Mar. 25—BREESE, Ill. — Runs kept coming and coming and coming.

The St. Anthony baseball team pounded Breese (Central) on Saturday, 14-2, scoring runs in each of the five innings it took to complete the game.

The temperatures were cold; the wind was howling, but the bats were red hot for the Bulldogs (4-0-1).

"Tough conditions today," head coach Tony Kreke said. "We challenged them at the beginning. These conditions are not fun."

Sam Link didn't mind the conditions. He finished with three hits and four RBIs.

"He's a ballplayer," Kreke said. "He's a great example of a kid who can grind out at-bats. He brings so many intangibles to the lineup."
