South Carolina State tennis coach Hardeep Judge earned career victory number 600 as his men’s and women’s tennis teams went undefeated at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tennis Round-Up at Cary Tennis Park.
“I’m proud of both teams,” Judge said. “Both teams were able to stay unbeaten in conference play, but we have to continue to work hard. It was great to get win No. 600.”
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 10-3 overall and 4-0 in conference play with wins over Morgan State (7-0), Howard (5-2), Coppin State (7-0) and Delaware State (5-2).
No. 1 singles player Sofiya Chursina opened the event with a hard-fought victory (7-5, 6-3), but would coast in her last three matches only dropping six games.

No. 1 singles player Novak Novakovich led the Bulldogs with three victories.
Both teams still have conference matches against Norfolk State (April 1) and North Carolina Central (April 12) before the MEAC tournament (April 25-27). The men’s team will be going for its fourth-straight conference title and 19th overall while the women’s team will be trying for its 18th overall conference championship. Both teams advanced to the NCAA tournament last season.
“Both teams have things to work on,” Judge said. “We need to work extremely hard."
