Man who killed three women in Kalamazoo area in 1972 is seeking release from prison

In 1972, four young women were killed in Kalamazoo County by Danny Ranes. His accomplice, Brent Koster, then 15, admitted that he raped and killed three of them at Ranes' urging while Ranes alone killed the fourth. Koster, who pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree murder, and testified against Ranes. Koster admitted killing Claudia Bidstrup and Linda Clark, both 19-year-old Chicago residents traveling to Ann Arbor, and Pamela Fearnow, 18, a Western Michigan University student. KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI – A man on parole tied to the 1972 killings of three young women has been told to shut down his own rideshare.

A Department of Corrections spokesperson said Brent Koster’s parole agent in Calhoun County told Koster he could not offer rideshares.
