Egg Harbor Township High School graduate Frankie Wright earned his third win of the season last week for the Wagner College baseball team.
Wright allowed two runs, one earned, and struck out three in eight innings to get the win for Wagner in a 3-2 victory over Central Connecticut State.
Wright improved to 3-3 and lowered his ERA to 4.50. He has struck out 17 in 30 innings over six starts this season.
Nolan Watson (Southern Regional) hit a two-run double in Dayton’s 11-9 loss to Butler.
Jim Pasquale (Holy Spirit) hit a three-run homer in Iona’s 8-7 loss to Wagner. In a 15-14 loss to Niagara, Josiah Ragsdale (St. Augustine Prep) went 4 for 6, including a double, with two runs and an RBI. Pasquale hit two doubles.
Jayden Shertel (Holy Spirit) went 4 for 4 with three runs in Maryland, Baltimore County’s 10-0 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore.
Brian Furey (St. Augustine) doubled and drove in one run in Navy’s 8-1 loss to Army.
Kenny Levari (St. Augustine) singled, doubled and scored in Old Dominion’s 3-2 win over Richmond.
Ryan Taylor (St. Augustine) tripled, scored twice and knocked in one run in Penn’s 12-11 win over Lehigh. He hit a walkoff RBI single in the 11th inning of a 6-5 win over Brown.
Brody McKenzie (St. Augustine) had a hit and three runs in Rhode Island’s 19-15 win over Stonehill.
In Rutgers’ 8-2 win over Rider, Trevor Cohen (Holy Spirit) had three hits and scored. Tony Santa Maria (ACIT) hit an RBI double and scored. In an 18-6 win over Lafyette, Cohen hit a two-run single, an RBI single and scored three runs. Santa Maria hit a two-run double and an RBI triple, and Jordan Sweeney (EHT) scored twice. In a 3-0 win over UConn, Santa Maria hit a solo homer. In a 13-6 win over UConn, Christian Coppola (Cedar Creek) allowed three runs and struck out six in 5 2/3 innings to improve to 4-1, and Cohen hit a two-run homer.
Robbie Petracci (EHT) hit a solo homer in South Alabama’s 4-3 loss to Troy.
David Hagaman (Holy Spirit) allowed a run and struck out 10 in 6 2/3 innings in relief to get his first win of the season for West Virginia in an 8-3 victory over Oklahoma.
In Barton’s 10-3 win over Coker, Matthew Rivera (Holy Spirit) hit a two-run homer. Luis Sauri (Buena Regional) got two hits, scored twice and drove in a run. In a 7-2 loss to North Greenville, Jared Beebe (Hammonton) got two hits, drove in one run and scored another.
Garrett Musey (Millville) hit a solo homer in Goldey-Beacom’s 5-3 loss to Jefferson. He hit a solo homer in a 19-11 win over Jefferson. He hit a two-run homer and an RBI single in an 11-0 win over Jefferson.
Solomon Griffith (Atlantic Christian) had two hits and two RBIs in Arcadia’s 20-6 win over FDU-Florham. He doubled and scored two runs in a 14-1 win over FDU-Florham.
Blake Ramos (Millville) doubled and scored in Delaware Valley’s 16-14 win over Penn State Schuylkill. He got two hits and scored twice in a 10-1 win over City College of New York.
In Eastern’s 15-14 loss to Washington College, David Hunsberger (Vineland) hit an RBI double and scored twice. Sean Cottrell (St. Augustine) doubled and scored. In a 9-5 win over York, Cottrell allowed two runs, one earned, and struck out three in seven innings to improve to 4-1.
Drew Haines (Hammonton) had a hit, a run and an RBI in Gwynedd Mercy’s 3-1 win over Centenary.
Michael Todaro (Lacey Township) struck out four in 1 2/3 innings in relief to get the save in Montclair State’s 10-7 win over Drew. In a 9-4 loss to MIT, Matt Kaliske (Lacey) had two hits and an RBI. In a 7-3 win over Manhattanville, Kaliske tripled. In an 11-5 win over Manhattanville, Miles Feaster (Lacey) had three hits. Kaliske added a two-run single and an RBI double.
Anthony Rakotz (Vineland) went 3 for 4, including two doubles, in an 11-5 loss to Rowan.
Nick Danbrowney (Barnegat) struck out nine in a complete game in Ramapo’s 6-5 win over SUNY Cobleskill.
Mason Dorsey (St. Augustine) had a hit, three runs and an RBI in Rowan’s 20-8 win over Haverford. He doubled and scored in an 11-8 win over Swarthmore.
Jaden Millstein (Ocean City) doubled in Vassar’s 9-4 loss to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Men’s basketball
Caleb Fields (Wildwood Catholic) scored 15 to go with six assists and four rebounds in Fairfield’s 82-75 win over Little Rock in the first round of the College Basketball Invitational in Dayton Beach, Florida. The tournament continued Monday, but Fairfield’s game ended too late for this edition.
Women’s basketball
Quanirah Montague (Atlantic City) had seven points and three assists in Mississippi State’s 84-47 win over Georgia Tech in the first round of the National Invitational Tournament. After a 68-61 win over TCU in which Montague scored two, the Bulldogs advanced to the quarterfinals Thursday where it entered Monday awaiting its opponent.
