Dillian Whyte's team have hinted that 'the Bodysnatcher' may be returning to the ring very soon.

Whyte has been sidelined since failing a pre-fight drugs test before his proposed rematch with Anthony Joshua last August.

The fight was cancelled as a result of the revelation with Robert Helenius stepping in for Whyte on short notice to save the card.

Taking to Instagram after the news broke, Whyte wrote: "I can confirm without a shadow of a doubt that I have not taken the reported substance, in this camp or at any point in my life.

"I am completely innocent and ask to be given the time to go through the process of proving this without anybody jumping to conclusions or trial by media.

"This is not the first time that I have been reported as having an adverse finding for a substance which I have not taken, and as I did last time, I will again prove that I am completely innocent."

Nothing was heard from Whyte or his team for several months after the failed test.

But his gym, Proactive Sports Performance, have since insisted that he will be back in action 'soon'.

The Spanish sports performance institute uploaded a video of Whyte training at one of their facilities on Thursday with the caption: "The Body Snatcher is Back. Coming Soon…."

It is unclear whether this means Whyte has been or is going to be cleared to fight.

There have been no reports on what steps have been taken by Whyte or the Texas Boxing Commission regarding the findings of the random anti-doping protocol.

This isn't the first time Whyte has returned adverse findings in a drug test.

Whyte tested positive for the banned substance Methylhexaneamine after his victory over Hungary's Sandor Balogh in 2012 which resulted in him being handed a two-year ban.

Seven years later, he tested positive for another banned stimulant in a UK-Anti Doping (UKAD) test but also returned negative tests administered by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).

UKAD initially charged Whyte but that was later withdrawn after undergoing an investigation with which the Brit cooperated fully.

A statement made by UKAD five months after the Rivas fight affirmed they had "accepted the explanation provided by Mr Whyte".
