Eggy has detailed a pop-up event in Brooklyn, NY ahead of the band’s Reelin’ in the Years-themed Purim show at Brooklyn Bowl on Saturday, March 23rd featuring The Funky Dawgz Horns.

The free, pre-show pop-up event, set to take place at Threes Brewing Greenpoint Bar & Beer Shop, will lean into the retrospective theme of the evening’s performance by giving fans a chance to dig through the Eggy merch vault in addition to artwork and other items designed by friends of the band like Some Saxy and Long Strange Putt. The pop-up will take place from 2:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. prior to the show at Brooklyn Bowl, which begins at 8:00 p.m. a short walk away.

Eggy recently noted that the March 23rd performance’s Reelin’ in the Years theme will see the band take fans “through the music of the decades.” Attendees are encouraged to dress for the occasion in decade-specific (’60s–’00s) costumes, one of the various festive traditions surrounding the Jewish holiday of Purim.

As Jake Brownstein (guitar, vocals) explained to Live For Live Music of the band’s plans to create a new concert tradition on Purim, “Everyone’s doing Halloween, everyone’s doing New Year’s. … We don’t always have to compete for the special day. Let’s make a special day. Purim is the time that everyone gets to party in Judaism. … To create this kind of weird environment where people are like, ‘Why am I dressing up in March?’ will be cool.”
