The Francofolies de La Rochelle festival has become a benchmark in its field, and is committed to promoting and disseminating French and French-speaking chanson and contemporary music to a wide audience. As a result, many French-speaking artists flock here every year to thrill the hearts of fans and enthusiasts of this musical genre.
Over the years, the festival has also diversified its scope. For example,"le Chantier des Francos", a stage improvement workshop for emerging French-speaking artists from the chanson and contemporary music worlds, was born.
And despite the passing years, success is still very much with us. The proof: 150,000 festival-goers in 2017, over 80 concerts on 6 stages over 5 days. Half of the festival-goers are under 30, and the under-25s make up 43% of the audience.
After a great edition in 2023, the Francofolies de La Rochelle festival is announcing its return in 2024, with a new, 40th edition not to be missed from Wednesday July 10 to Sunday July 14. On the menu? A host of talented artists in a variety of styles, starting with Sting! The former member of The Police will be stopping off in La Rochelle for an exclusive set on the Jean-Louis Foulquier stage on Wednesday, July 10, to open the festival.
Rap will also be well represented at this year's Francofolies de La Rochelle , with appearances by Ninho, Josman, PLK, Zola, Luidji and Bigflo & Oli.
Want more? In 2024, the Francofolies de La Rochelle will also welcome Jean-Michel Jarre, Patrick Bruel, Pascal Obispo, the phenomenon Zaho de Sagazan, Etienne Daho, Eddy de Pretto, Grand Corps Malade and Sofiane Pamart, as well as the Versailles-based group Phoenix.
Also on the bill are Canadian Charlotte Cardin, Santa de Hyphen Hyphen, Clara Ysé and Aliocha Schneider, as well as Alain Souchon, Damien Saez, Yamê, Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine, Alan Stivell, Jeanne Added and Jacques.
