The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office says a mother is in custody for continuing her son's illegal drug operation after he was arrested last week.
The STPSO Narcotics Division says they obtained information leading them to believe that 47-year-old Monique Sagona was in possession of a significant quantity of illegal narcotics, which she intended to sell with assistance from her son, Allen Tate Jr., who was still incarcerated in the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center.
Detectives obtained and executed a search warrant on Thursday at Sagona's home in the 73000 block of Iron Street in the Hillcrest neighborhood of Abita Springs.
Detectives found LSD, cocaine, heroin, marijuana, Adderall pills suspected to contain fentanyl, and several other drugs at the residence.
Detectives ultimately confirmed that Tate and Sagona were conspiring to continue Tate’s distribution of narcotics while Tate was incarcerated.
Sagona was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on several drug charges.
