A Bryan man was sentenced last Thursday to 24 months in prison for repeatedly violating his probation, according to the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office.
Gustavo Sandoval Jr., 33, has been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance of less than one gram and several misdemeanor charges, according to Brazos County Jail records.
On Jan. 22, 2018, Sandoval pled guilty to possession of 2-4 ounces of marijuana in a drug-free zone and received a sentence of five years of probation, according to the DA’s office. His probation prohibited the use of alcohol or drugs.
On July 21, 2021, Sandoval was arrested for a DWI after the Bryan Police Department observed him driving along the oncoming lane of traffic on Texas Avenue for over a minute.
On March 6, 2022, Sandoval was found to have cocaine, according to the DA’s office.

On Jan. 11, 2023, Sandoval was arrested for another DWI after he was found unresponsive in a stopped car at an intersection. After searching his vehicle, officers said they found cocaine and marijuana, according to the DA’s office.
Sandoval has pleaded guilty to all three drug charges and the misdemeanor charges.
Possession of a controlled substance of less than one gram is a state jail felony punishable by up to 24 months in prison.
