A cosy Scottish inn with a "roaring fire" and a "Sunday roast of dreams" is the perfect destination this Easter season.

Scotland is home to countless restaurants and eateries that serve up all manner of delicious cuisine, from freshly caught seafood to mouthwatering kebabs. Sometimes, though, nothing beats a good old-fashioned Sunday roast.

When it comes to roasts, if you're not careful it is easy to end up with a bland and dry meal that is certainly not worth the money you paid. Those unsure where to head for a juicy and flavourful Sunday roast should make a beeline for the Coorie Inn in Perthshire.

Located in the historic village of Muthill in the foothills of the Scottish Highlands, this hidden gem spot has received heaps of praise from visitors. Its restaurant utilises locally sourced and fresh seasonal ingredients throughout its varied menus.

The inn's Sunday roast menu is available between 12pm and 6:30pm, with plenty of time to enjoy an after-dinner drink in its comfy lounge afterwards. The menu is priced at £38 for two courses and £45 for three courses.

The star of the show is the roast top rump of Scottish beef, which is served with Yorkie puds, beef fat roast potatoes, root vegetables, cauliflower and broccoli cheese, seasonal greens, and gravy. Meanwhile, 'Coorie Inn corn-fed whole roast chicken' is also available to share, served with the same drool-worthy sides.

Among the other highlights of the menu include pulled pork and ham hock terrine, Cullen skink, and whole roasted cauliflower. Elsewhere, trifle, sticky toffee pudding, and chocolate nemesis are some of the desserts on offer.

The Coorie Inn website states: "Join us for a modern gastronomic experience in our relaxed restaurant.

"Our menu features the best of Scottish cuisine with a creative approach. Our delicious bar lunch, fine dining menu, and Sunday roast are served in a cosy atmosphere in our historic inn."

The inn is also very popular amongst visitors. It currently has an average rating of 4.5 out of five on travel website Tripadvisor based on 404 reviews.

One recent customer wrote: "Perfect in every way from the moment we entered the door. We were there for Mothering Sunday and the team ensured that we were treated to outstanding service and food. We are so fortunate to have such an outstanding restaurant in our local area."

Meanwhile, a second shared: "The Coorie Inn is such a beautiful country style restaurant. We sat in the bar area beside the roaring fire for a drink prior to going through to the restaurant to dine.

"I have been wanting to have the Sunday roast menu for a while, it did not disappoint. Best roast dinner I have ever had by a country mile."
