Omaha organization that focuses on survivorship and life beyond breast cancer hosts first ever intimacy conference
Nearly 100 breast cancer survivors attended the first-ever intimacy conference hosted by Project Pink'd on Saturday.
Project Pink'd is a local organization that focuses on survivorship and what's beyond a breast cancer diagnosis.
Saturday's conference brought in healthcare professionals to talk about empowerment, self-knowledge and self-care in regard to intimacy among other breast cancer survivors.
"Having gone through such a heartbreaking, traumatic breast cancer diagnosis is one thing and then you have to live with that for the rest of your life. And no one thinks about that. The intimacy part after diagnosis. And we're here to knock down those walls and have those bold and brave conversations about this is going to happen and it's ok and it's happening to other people just like you," said Shawn McCarville, Director of Programming for Project Pink'd.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Jordan Rullo was flown in just for the conference.
