The Mississippi State Bulldogs bounced back tonight significantly over Jackson State. The Bulldogs trailed 5-0 going into the bottom of the third, but MSU responded with a 13-run inning. 

Nolan Stevens and Bradley Loftin both pitched well for MSU. The pair combined for 4.2 innings and allowed one run on six strikeouts. 

This  game was much needed for MSU as they improved to 5-4 on the year. It will be a quick turnaround for the Bulldogs as they welcome Mount St. Marys for a three-game tilt starting Thursday at 3 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.

Top of the 7th

Logan Forsythe is in to pitch for MSU.

Forsythe gets a strikeout for the first out.

Forsythe gets a strikeout for the second out.

Forsythe gets a strikeout to end it.

MSU wins 19-6.

Bottom of the 6th

JSU will bring in Darrell Hardrick.

Hujsak draws a leadoff walk.

Powell pops out to the third baseman for the first out.

Cupp drops a double into no man's land. Runners on second and third with one out.

Larry works a one-out walk.

Mershon works a run-scoring walk.

JSU will bring in Shemar Harris.

Jordan will drop a run-scoring single into right field.

Hines ropes a single into right field and drives in a pair.

Aaron Downs will pinch-hit for MSU.

MSU will bring in Bradley Loftin for his first appearance of the year.

JSU gets a leadoff homerun, and Jordan almost robbed it in right field.

Loftin gets a strikeout on a nice breaking ball for the first out.

JSU gets a one-out double.

Loftin gets a lineout to a leaping Hines for the second out.

The Tigers runner advances to third on a wild pitch.

Loftin hits a batter. Runners on the corners with two outs.

Cupp has it in shallow left field for the third out.

Kohler strikes out for the first out.

Hujsak is hit by the pitch.

Powell rolls out to the first baseman.

Cupp strikes out to end the inning.

Stevens gets a strikeout for the first out.

Jordan rips it past the first baseman for a double, and the 12th run of the inning is in for MSU.

Hines grounds it into right field for a single, and Jordan will score.

Chance lines one to the center fielder, who makes a diving grab and throws Hines out at first.

Chance catches it in short left field for the first out.

Larry fields it cleanly for the second out.

Stevens fields his position and tosses it to Hines to end the inning. A much-needed quick inning for MSU.

Bottom of the 2nd

Chance grounds out to the shortstop for the first out.

Kohler grounds out to the first baseman for the second out.

Hujsak flies out to the right fielder to end the inning. A disaster start for MSU.

JSU leads 5-0.

Top of the 2nd

Holcombe issues a leadoff walk on four pitches.

JSU bunts the runner over to second. Runner on second with two outs.

Holcombe issues another walk. Runners on first and second with one out.

JSU lays down a nice bunt for a hit. Bases are juiced with one out, and the top of the lineup is up for the Tigers.

STARKVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi State Bulldogs welcome Jackson State to Dudy Noble Field. The Bulldogs are in desperate need of momentum with a back-and-forth state.

MSU plays well on Friday against Georgia Southern, leading to a 5-1 win, but follows it up with an 11-4 disaster of a loss. Given Mississippi State's recent losses, the Bulldogs will play a feisty Jackson State team that has to be confident.

What: Mississippi State Bulldogs (4-4) versus Jackson State Tigers (6-2)

Mississippi State is looking to get a much-needed win over Jackson State.

When: Tuesday at 3:25 p.m. CT.

Series: Mississippi State holds a 55-8 record over the Tigers. The first meeting came on April 21, 1976.

Last Meeting: MSU destroyed the Tigers 17-2 on April 19th, 2022. Former Bulldog Jack Walker got the win for MSU.

Last time out, Tigers: JSU lost their series finale to Mississippi Valley State 7-3.

Last time out, Bulldogs: MSU got a bounceback win over Georgia Southern 10-2. Jurrangelo Cijntje went five innings, struck out seven, and only allowed a run.
