Donald Levin Burch, Jr. of Yulee, Florida passed away unexpectedly March 16, 2024 in Jacksonville, FL. Donald was born in Ocala, FL on January 11, 1960 to Dr. Donald Burch, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Crapps Burch. Donald graduated from Suwannee High School where he played football and ran track, setting a record in the 100-yard dash that stood for many years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Insurance and Economics from Florida State University and worked in forestry, banking, and real estate appraisal. He retired from JEA in 2019.
Donald was an avid outdoorsman and forester. His passions were hunting,fishing, boating, gardening, and time with his family. He could often be found inspecting timber, working on outdoor projects, and attending FSU football games. Donald was known for his tremendous sense of humor and practical jokes, love for his family, and for his outgoing, welcoming spirit.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Elizabeth (Betsy) Burch, two children: Donald (Trey) Levin Burch, III, and Patricia Elizabeth Burch; two sisters: Charlotte Burch Jones (Richard K.), and Anna Burch DeWitt (Jason); nephew Ryan Kelly Jones (Celia) and great nephew Levin, niece Ansley Parker DeWitt, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
A funeral service will be held on March 20, 2024 at the Methodist Church of Live Oak, 311 Ohio Ave South, at 11:00 am followed by a reception at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Heritage House and Gardens in Live Oak or the Methodist Church of Live Oak Memorial Fund.
