Two local museums to open Sunday to share special features

LIMA — Two local museums will be open from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 24. According to a recent press release, the Auglaize County Historical Society Mooney Museum and the Wapakoneta Museum will have special features. The release also states the Wapakoneta Museum will have trophies from the St. Joseph basketball team and the Mooney Museum will have an 1860s folk painting on display.

“We welcome visitors Sunday to our museums, both to celebrate a wonderful chapter in athletic history and to explore a county mystery with us,” Director of the Historical Society Rachel Barber said in the release.

Both events are free and open to the public. The Mooney Museum is located at 223 South Main Street, St. Marys. The Wapakoneta Museum is located at 206 W. Main Street, Wapakoneta.
