Howington

ZANESVILLE, Ohio–A 20-year-old man found guilty of vehicular homicide by a Muskingum County jury was sentenced to four and a half years in prison.

According to the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office, on Monday, March 25th,  Dustin D. Howington of Blacklick appeared before Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge Kelly Cottrill for sentencing.

Earlier this year, a Muskingum County jury found Howington guilty of committing vehicular homicide.

On August 19, 2023, Howington drove his van into oncoming traffic on County Road 6 in Harrison Township, hitting a motorcycle in the opposite lane and killing the other motorist, James Sanor of Lancaster.

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Gerald Anderson said he hopes Howington will spend his time in prison reflecting on how his choices hurt Sanor’s family.
