Mike McCaul tells Darrell Issa to ‘go f*** yourself’ during House committee hearing

.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Mike McCaul (R-TX) found himself victim of a hot mic on Tuesday when he told a fellow committee member to “go f*** yourself.”

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) was speaking during a committee meeting mostly empty of members when he appeared to go over the five-minute allotment for comment.

“We’ve been keeping a five-minute rule,” McCaul said to Issa.

“I thought it — I thought it was done. I thought it was a closing act, chairman,” Issa responded.

Under his breath, McCaul said in response, “Yeah, go f*** yourself.”

McCaul later responded to questions about his comment, in which he apologized.

“It was a long day, and I lost my temper,” McCaul said via Fox News. “That is uncharacteristic of me and I apologize to Mr. Issa, who I consider a friend.”

Poking fun at McCaul, Issa brushed off the comments in a post on X.

“Hey @RepMcCaul — I’ve been called worse … and by people I don’t like!” Issa quipped.
