FEBRUARY 24TH MILWAUKEE COUNTY TRANSIT BUS DRIVER KEON FINKLEY, BEHIND THE WHEEL DRIVING ALONG CAPITOL DRIVE IN MILWAUKEE. I HAD SUNGLASSES ON, SO WHEN I SEEN IT, I WAS MY EYES GOT BIG, LIKE, OKAY, AM I DREAMING THIS IS WHAT FINKLEY SAW A BOY ABOUT 4 TO 5 YEARS OLD, DARTING ACROSS THE ROAD. I START BLOWING MY HORN, GET THE WARM UNDER THE DRIVERS. SO THEN HE STEPPED BACK ON THE STEP BACK CLOSE TO THE CURB. SO I WAS ABLE TO HANG ON MY BUS AND GET HIM ONTO THE BUS. THE BOY WAS BAREFOOT AND WEARING ONLY A PAJAMA SHIRT. YOU RIGHT THERE. DON’T MOVE. FINKLEY STOPPED THE BUS AND BROUGHT HIM ON BOARD TO KEEP HIM WARM. FINKLEY SAYS HE WENT INTO DADDY MODE. BEING A FATHER OF FOUR KIDS WITH TWINS AROUND THE SAME AGE AS THE CHILD, I INSTANTLY THOUGHT OF MY KIDS AND I WOULD HAVE TO TREAT THAT BOY LIKE MY SON. AT THAT TIME, FINKLEY CALLED DISPATCH, WHICH THEN NOTIFIED POLICE OFFICERS, THEN TOOK THE BOY AND REUNITED HIM WITH HIS FAMILY. A LOT OF PEOPLE SAYING, YOU’RE A HERO TODAY. I DIDN’T LOOK TO BE A HERO THAT DAY. I DID LOOK TO PROTECT A LITTLE BOY THAT DAY, AND I’M HAPPY THAT I WAS ABLE TO DO THAT. IT’S UNCLEAR WHY THE CHILD WAS OUT THERE THAT DAY. A Milwaukee County bus driver came to the rescue of a young boy wandering alone on a busy Milwaukee street.The Milwaukee County Transit System shared video Thursday of the incident from Feb. 24. Keyon Finkley saw the child as he drove his bus on Capitol Drive near 83rd Street."I start blowing my horn to warn other drivers," he said. The boy was barefoot and wearing only a pajama shirt. Finkley stopped the bus and brought him on board to keep him warm.Finkley said he went into daddy mode, being a father of four kids, with twins around the same age as the child."I instantly thought of my kids and I was happy to treat that boy like my son, at that time," Finkley said.It's unclear why the child was outside, near the street that day. Police reunited the child with his family. "A lot of people saying you're a hero that day," Finkley said. "I didn't look to be a hero that day. I looked to protect a little boy that day, and I'm happy that I was able to do that."The Milwaukee County Transit System says this is the 14th lost or missing child found by its drivers in recent years.

Keyon Finkley saw the child as he drove his bus on Capitol Drive near 83rd Street.

"I start blowing my horn to warn other drivers," he said.

Finkley said he went into daddy mode, being a father of four kids, with twins around the same age as the child.

"I instantly thought of my kids and I was happy to treat that boy like my son, at that time," Finkley said.
