One woman has revealed that she was so desperate to get rid of her ‘double chin’ that she underwent liposuction TWICE – with terrifying results.

Like many women, Robyn McManus struggles to remember a time when she felt happy with what she saw in the mirror.
As a woman with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), her weight had fluctuated and she’d always felt anxious about her ‘double chin’.
Recalling how she was bullied in her teens, she said: “A group of teens sent a mass text messages to my phone with the contents: double chin. It really impacted my mental health and self-confidence.
“From that day on it was my biggest insecurity and I always dreamed of a day where I wouldn’t have it anymore."

Being in front of the camera constantly didn’t help either, with the influencer later making the bold decision to go under the knife.
Paying the better part of 6,000 euros (£5k), Robyn underwent liposuction on her face at one of Ireland’s best clinics but was disappointed by her results.
Despite following her doctor’s aftercare advice and completing her lymphatic drainage, she still had a ‘double chin’.
With her face still extremely swollen, the Irish woman became increasingly disheartened – especially after getting into debt to pay for the surgery.

“I was feeling extremely deflated, I had taken out a loan that I will be paying back for years and was so disheartened that after everything, I still had a double chin,” she revealed, with the influencer also spending money on massages to reduce the swelling.
She even joked that she resembled Lord Farquaad in Tiktok as her swelling was so bad.

Unhappy with her results, she contacted the clinic and they arranged for her to have a second procedure with another surgeon.
Though the corrective surgery was free of charge, it proved to be even worse and nearly cost Robyn her life.
A week after her op, the 28-year-old would be rushed to hospital as her face suddenly began swelling.
Rather than waiting for an ambulance, her step-mum drove them to Tallaght Hospital and constantly checked on her breathing.
“I remember telling myself ‘Don’t die while you are in the car wait until you get through the doors to hospital'” Robyn recalled, with the young woman undergoing an emergency CT scan.
It revealed that she had a haematoma and was bleeding internally in her face.
She added: “I thought staying in Ireland instead of flying abroad was the safe option, but things happen no matter where in the world you are.
“I suppose I would want to make people informed of the risks, there are still risks while having my procedure whether at home or abroad however in my case being at home meant I had aftercare and follow up, something I may not have had if I flew to another country.”
Having now made a full recovery, Robyn insists that she is ‘absolutely delighted’ with the results.

She explained: “It’s not perfect as I have some remaining fat under the muscle, but I wasn’t looking for a miracle I was looking to be able to accept my face.”
“My stomach no longer sinks when I catch a glimpse of my side profile so for that I am incredibly grateful."
