It was a doggone good day for Miranda Lambert.

On Wednesday, prior to kicking off the final stretch of her Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas residency show, the country superstar, 40, was given a ceremonial key to the Las Vegas strip by Clark County Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick. In addition, Wednesday was also declared Miranda Lambert Day in the desert city.

As if that wasn’t enough, Lambert was presented with a $140,000 check to benefit her MuttNation charity, money that was raised from the show at Planet Hollywood — $1 from every ticket purchased during her Velvet Rodeo run was donated to Lambert’s dog-friendly foundation.

The “Tin Man” singer founded MuttNation in 2009 with her mom, Bev Lambert. The nonprofit is dedicated to promoting pet adoption, advancing spay and neuter access to pet owners, and sharing resources to help people be responsible pet parents.

There’s no question that Lambert’s Vegas residency act, which began in September 2022, has been a huge success. As has been the case since day one, Lambert digs deep into her catalog throughout the concert, pulling out classics like 2007's "Famous in a Small Town” and 2011’s “Fastest Girl in Town.” She also shows her growth by incorporating new hits such as "If I Was a Cowboy.”

“I hear some of y’all trying to rally. It’s a Wednesday but we’re in this together,” she told the crowd after getting lavished with her gifts.

Despite the accolades, Velvet Rodeo will come to an end on April 6.

“I think what I’ll miss the most about the shows in Vegas is the wardrobe, because everybody dressed to the nines and it’s really fun to see,” the all-time ACM award-winning artist said on Instagram recently, noting that her on-stage fashion was inspired by Elvis Presley and the Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame.

Lambert noted that she has some “really big plans” and a “wildcard” up her sleeve post-Vegas.

While still there, however, she’s leaning into the city, even hitting up a Vegas Golden Knights hockey game on Tuesday night. Naturally, she donned a shimmering, gold jacket for the occasion and hyped up the crowd by cranking the arena’s noise-maker, which puts out a horn sound.
