Fans of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway are facing disappointment this week, as their favourite show WON'T air as usual this weekend, with it being cancelled to make way for the rugby.

Having had a great start to the new series, which will be the last for a while, Geordie hosts Ant and Dec delivered some bad news to millions of viewers at the end of last weekend's episode, after Olly Alexander gave the first ever TV performance of his Eurovision entry Dizzy, in the End of the Show Show.

They announced that there would be no Takeaway on March 1, with ITV shaking up their schedule to dedicate SIX and a half hours to Six Nations rugby, as Ireland take on Scotland and then England take on France. And Saturday Night Takeaway isn't the only programme affected by the shake up, as The 1% Club and The Jonathan Ross Show have also been scrapped for a week, with a backlash online days before they were due to air.

Kicking off on X, one angry fan wrote: "No @itvtakeaway next Saturday due to the rugby! I’m sorry but this show should take priority over anything! Stick the rugby on another channel or have different kick off time to accommodate Ant & Dec’s show!" Equally annoyed, but more so over The 1% Club not being on, a second wrote: "Looks like there's NO #The1PercentClub on Saturday due to the Six Nations Rugby. Couldn't @ITV air this marvellous & very addictive quiz next Friday or Sunday evening for the 5m+ viewers who absolutely enjoy this show?"

Details of next week's Saturday Night Takeaway have already been leaked, with a preview revealing that Maya Jama will be Star Guest Announcer, McFly will provide the music, after Danny Jones' win on The Masked Singer and Little Ant and Dec will meet Hollywood A-lister Paul Rudd.
