The Dolphins have made an offer to free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and the two sides remain in contact on a potential deal, coach Mike McDaniel said at the NFL’s annual owners meetings on Monday.

Beckham visited the team’s facility last week but left without signing a contract. McDaniel, though, said both sides are continuing to negotiate.

“Things went great with him,” McDaniel said. “We did make him an offer and business takes time, especially with players such as Odell, who’s had a phenomenal career, still has really good football in front of him and has options. So, I think those conversations will be ongoing. We’ll see where they go.”

He added: “I don’t live in the world of crystal balling and I do stay in my lane as a coach. I’m definitely ready to coach him if we can come to an agreement and I think both sides are trying to work towards that. We’ll see what happens.”

Beckham, who turns 32 in November, played with the Baltimore Ravens this past season. He caught 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games. His 16.1 yards per catch average was a career-high.

The Dolphins continue looking for a No. 3 wide receiver to complement Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, and Beckham could be a fit. Miami lost Cedrick Wilson Jr. in free agency but re-signed Braxton Berrios and River Cracraft.

Last offseason, the Ravens signed Beckham to a one-year deal worth $15 million. As of Monday, the Dolphins have about $10 million in cap space. Miami, though, can free more room and this offseason has used void years to spread out bonuses and maintain cap flexibility.
