California Lottery officials announced a group of people have claimed the $1.76 billion Powerball jackpot won in October 2023.According to officials, the group bought the ticket at a market in Frazier Park, a town of just 3,000 people, on Oct. 11. Officials added on Friday that one of the members of the group was someone named Theodorus Struyck.It's not yet known how many people make up the winning group.The jackpot was the second-largest ever won in U.S. lottery history, taking 36 drawings to find a winner and raising over $119 million in public funding for California.The largest jackpot ever won was $2.04 billion in 2022, which was also sold in California.If the October 2023 winners choose the one-time lump sum it will come out to $774.1 million. They can also choose annuity payments over 29 years to receive the full $1.76 billion. The store that sold the ticket, Midway Market, a family-owned business, earned a $1-million sellers' bonus.
