Rockford IceHogs hold live jersey auction benefitting community fund

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Following Sunday’s 4-1 win over San Jose, fans could bid on the St. Patrick’s Day jerseys straight off the players’ backs during a live auction.
The team’s annual event benefits the IceHogs Community Fund, which gives back to local non-profits. Last season’s live auction raised more than $57,000.
“It was a surprise to me to see the amounts that these jerseys bring in but it shows you the passionate fanbase we have here and that we’ve built up over 25 seasons. They connect with this team, with this city and it shows on jersey nights,” says IceHogs Marketing Manager Dave Costello.
