Uli Jon Roth, the legendary guitarist and onetime Scorpions axeman, has announced a Spring 2024 North American solo tour.
The outing kicks off April 2nd in Mesa, Arizona, and runs through May 18th in Houston, with tickets to select shows available via Ticketmaster. Fans can also look for deals or get tickets to additional dates via StubHub, where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program.
The trek will be a career-spanning celebration for Roth, who is best known for his work in Scorpions in the ’70s and his subsequent project Electric Sun. Music from both bands will played across a three-hour, two-part concert experience.
The first half of the show will be centric to Roth’s solo work “new and old,” as well as excerpts from Uli’s Metamorphosis of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons Concerto. This portion of the show also features a brief “TED Talk” by Uli, introducing his new book In Search of the Alpha Law.
After an intermission, Roth and his band will then perform material from the five ’70s-era Scorpions albums he played on — the stuff of legend for fans of early/proto heavy metal — and songs from the Electric Sun catalog. Roth’s self-invented “Sky Guitar” will be the star of the show, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the axe’s creation. The unique instrument allows for extra frets, enabling Roth to match the registers of the violin and cello.
