Dodgers Add Veteran Reliever to 40-Man Roster, Option Two Players

The return of Hudson is here!

The Los Angeles Dodgers selected veteran reliever Daniel Hudson's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

J.P. Hoornstra of Dodgers Nation reported on the news via X.

Hudson will be with the major league club. Because of this move, L.A. has optioned infielder Andre Lipcius for assignment and optioned Miguel Vargas.

The 37-year-old will play a huge role off the bullpen to start the season, as he will be on the Opening Day roster immediately.

The right-handed pitcher has missed the majority of the last two seasons due to knee issues. However, when he is healthy on the mound, he is a force to be reckoned with, especially as a Dodger.

From 2022 to 2023, Hudson holds a 1.98 ERA, 35 strikeouts, 211 ERA+, 2.14 FIP, and a 0.98 WHIP in 28 games and 27.1 innings.

The World Series champion will look for his second one in Los Angeles this season, and he'll look to play a vital part in what should be this historic season.
